What has to be true first

  • You are Cyprus tax resident: more than 183 days here in the year, or the 60-day rule (at least 60 days here, no more than 183 days in any other single country, not tax resident anywhere else, a Cyprus business, job or directorship, and a home here, owned or rented).
  • You are not domiciled in Cyprus: no Cyprus domicile of origin or of choice.
  • You have not been tax resident in Cyprus for 17 of the last 20 years.

What non-dom status could save you, per year

Enter valid figures on the left and the result appears here.

GESY on dividends and interest is 2.65% on up to €180,000 a year, never more than €4,770.

After 17 years the status ends. The 2026 reform lets it be extended by 5 years for a lump sum of €250,000, at most twice. That option is not in these figures.

An illustrative estimate under the 2026 Cyprus rules, not tax advice. Your own position depends on facts this tool does not ask about, and is confirmed on a call.

Three things to know before the number goes into a decision.

You enter your own rate

Other countries change their rates, and a table of them goes out of date. The rate you pay now is on your last return, and that is the one that matters.

Residency first, then non-dom

Non-dom status only applies once you are Cyprus tax resident, under the 183-day or the 60-day rule. The conditions are listed next to the calculator.

GESY is the whole Cyprus cost

A non-dom pays no SDC on dividends or interest. GESY at 2.65% still applies, on at most 180,000 euros a year, so never more than 4,770 euros.

The saving is real. The conditions are too.

The figure assumes you become tax resident and stay non-domiciled. Whether the 60-day rule fits your year, and how to evidence it, is what a partner checks with you.
